Jackie Peyton

Nurse Jackie Peyton, played by actress Edie Falco, is an emergency room nurse at All Saints Hospital in New York City. She is described as a "flawed" nurse. It was revealed early in the series, that Jackie has been battling a prescription drug problem and has been having an affair on her husband Kevin Peyton. Along the way, Jackie must deal with the overly flirtatious behavior of emergency room doctor, Dr. Fitch "Coop" Cooper, played by actor Peter Facinelli. At the hospital, Jackie uses her romantic relationship with the pharmacist Eddie Walzer so that she can have ready access to them.

She and Kevin have two daughters: Grace and Fiona Peyton.

Personality

She is known at All Saints Hospital as being a very tough nurse, doing what she believes is right instead of what she is told to do most of the time. She is very stubborn as well with her beliefs. 

Although she can be tough in a professional environment she is also seen as very kind to her patients and her family. She worked very hard to keep her double life a secret, but once she was outed as a drug addict she tried to overcome her addiction by going to rehab. 

Relationships

Kevin Peyton

Kevin is her husband for the first three seasons of the series, but after it is revealed that Jackie has a perscription drug problem he seeks a divorce. They have two children together. During the divorce Kevin seeks custody of the kids after thinking that Jackie would be an unfit mother due to her crazy sex life.

They were married for 16 years and met in high school.  

Eddie Walzer

Eddie is Jackie's secret affair. Through the first season Jackie is shown to be almost just using Eddie and his romantic feelings towards her to get her perscription drugs. Over the series, after he finds out that she is married, he still has romantic feelings towards her that she does not feel for him. Over time though they begin to form a close friendship as he helps her deal through her addiction and trying to help her through the custody battle with Kevin. 

Grace Peyton

The older of her two daughters, Jackie and Grace are often at odds with each other. Grace suffers from anxiety disorder. As she grows older she resents her mother more and claims that she is trying to make her miserable. Jackie tries her best to deal with Grace but often has troubles with her daughter. In rehab she admits to Charlie that when Grace was born she never stopped crying and is the reason Jackie started taking drugs in the first place. 

Fiona Peyton

Her youngest daughter, Fiona is a much more laid back child and is easier to deal with than her sister.
